Malik Riaz, the developer of Bahria Town, has said he is willing to donate 75% of his wealth for the welfare of the flood victims. This amounts to about 2 billion dollars.
Mr Riaz plans to build houses for the flood hit people with this money. These will be simple two-room mud-brick houses costing about 300,000 rupees each. That means shelter for about half a million families.
If 100 top wealthy people of Pakistan begin to think on the same lines, things can be really turned around in our motherland.This is the letter that Malik Riaz has addressed to the super rich of Pakistan:
